Finally, the replacement of the old dodger and bimini has arrived. We contracted with Ron Willard to replace the dodger and bimini of Therapy which was old, faded, and missing badly needed pieces. We also wanted to add some color to the boat going from the washed-out white to a crisp Beneteau forest green.
'Therapy' with new canvas
Of course, the new dodger and bimini arrived on the last day of our sailing season. Just in time to put them away for the winter. The weather this weekend was cool, like the entire summer, as temperatures dipped to 40 degrees which made sleeping on the boat a bit chilly.
We raised the dodger almost a foot which provided easier access to the companionway however, we kept the California-style construction which allows for each panel to be separately removed. This will provide air to the aft cabin hatches during the dog days of summer. The dodger also wraps further back providing more protection to the crew when the weather isn't so nice.

New dodger and bimini
Raising the dodger meant that we could get by with a smaller connector panel to bimini. The bimini was also changed a little with less overhang of the swim platform and more canvas wrapping around the side. New zippers and snaps should make this new dodger and bimini last a long time.
We now look forward to the new sailing season.
